V and Co: How to make a leather cuff from a belt

I love the look of leather bracelets and am lucky enough to live in a town with a Leathersmith who sells his leftover scraps. We discovered him a couple of years ago when we were creating Tuskan Raider costumes for a family/work trip to Comic-Con in San Diego (Read: I worked while husband and kids played). I’ll work on a “How To” blog for any star wars fans out there. It was an awesome challenge.

I started searching for leather cuff patterns to make my own, but rather than create them from raw material, a lot of people were making use of old leather belts. Brilliant really, because it’s less work and you can find really interesting designs and textures by recycling old belts. This HowTo blog below is fabulous for anyone wanting to try it themselves.
